Build and maintain a cloud platform for a client in the energy-storage sector. The platform runs on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) but experience with AWS or Azure is also acceptable. This is a hands-on role combining cloud infrastructure, Python development and infrastructure as code (IaC). You will help keep the platform reliable, improve deployment processes and build data pipelines that support battery operations and business decisions.

What you'll be doing
Own and improve the cloud platform, including infrastructure, deployments, monitoring, security and costs.
Write and maintain production Python code for services, data pipelines and automation.
Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform.
Improve CI/CD pipelines and work with Docker and Kubernetes.
Build reliable data pipelines and improve data quality, models and dashboards.
Create clear documentation and runbooks so the wider team can operate the platform.
Collaborate with developers, data engineers and business stakeholders.

What we're looking for
5+ years of experience in platform, cloud or data engineering, with responsibility for a production environment.
Experience with GCP, AWS or Azure and willingness to work on GCP.
Strong Python programming skills, including experience writing production applications or data pipelines.
Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, ideally Terraform.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD.
Good SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
Experience building pipelines for telemetry, time-series or other operational data.
A practical approach to monitoring, security and documentation.
Ownership, problem-solving skills and clear communication in English.

What you'll be doing
Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models.
Develop and optimise data transformations using Snowflake and dbt.
Build and maintain cloud-based data solutions on AWS.
Integrate data originating from SAP HANA and SAP source systems into modern data platforms.
Understand and work with existing Native HANA DWH models, SAP tables and data structures.
Ensure data quality, reliability, performance and maintainability across the data platform.
Collaborate with data engineers, architects, analysts and business stakeholders.
Contribute to the modernisation and migration of existing data-warehouse workloads toward modern cloud-based data stacks.

What we're looking for
Senior-level experience in Data Engineering / Data Warehousing.
Strong hands-on knowledge of Snowflake.
Strong experience with dbt, including data modeling and transformation.
Experience with AWS and cloud-based data architectures.
Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
Experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
SAP / HANA knowledge (nice to have)
Deep SAP expertise is not required, but we're looking for someone comfortable working with SAP-originated data who ideally has:
Familiarity with SAP HANA / Native HANA DWH.
Understanding of SAP tables and underlying data structures.
Experience extracting, transforming or integrating data coming from SAP/HANA.
Ability to understand existing HANA data models and translate them into modern Snowflake/dbt models.
